Yesterday morning, I had the sudden impulse to go and animate something. I thought, "why not try stop-motion?" So I set up my mobile phone camera, (by duct-taping it to a cup) dug up some bits and pieces from the bottom of my drawer, and started to create a short stop-motion clip. I thought I would be done by lunch time. My mobile phone camera had other plans...
After finishing about 21 frames, when I tried to take the next shot, my phone made a funny noise and switched off... And then turned on again, resetting a ton of my, uh... settings. Oh, well, they're just settings, I wanted to get on with the shoot...
But.
When I tried to take the picture again the same thing happened... Not good. I tried again. It happened again. I tried once more. And once more my camera re-set. I waited five minuets then tried. Same result. Fed up with my camera, I left it at that, planning to finish the shot later.
Later...
Coming back from my part time job, I found my set up mostly intact, but there were too many things that I'd have to put back, exactly where they were. And it was getting dark by then, and I knew I would not be able to finish it. Plus, I knew my mobile phone camera would probably break down again. I was left with no option but to abandon my project. Until I get the D-SLR back, of course. :)
