Yesterday morning, I had the sudden impulse to go and animate something. I thought, "why not try stop-motion?" So I set up my mobile phone camera, (by duct-taping it to a cup) dug up some bits and pieces from the bottom of my drawer, and started to create a short stop-motion clip. I thought I would be done by lunch time. My mobile phone camera had other plans...<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
After finishing about 21 frames, when I tried to take the next shot, my phone made a funny noise and switched off... And then turned on again, resetting a ton of my, uh... settings. Oh, well, they're just settings, I wanted to get on with the shoot... </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
But. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
When I tried to take the picture again <i>the same thing happened... </i>Not good. I tried again. It happened again. I tried once more. And once more my camera re-set. I waited five minuets <i>then</i> tried. Same result. Fed up with my camera, I left it at that, planning to finish the shot later.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Later...</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Coming back from my part time job, I found my set up mostly intact, but there were too many things that I'd have to put back, exactly where they were. And it was getting dark by then, and I knew I would not be able to finish it. Plus, I knew my mobile phone camera would probably break down again. I was left with no option but to abandon my project. Until I get the D-SLR back, of course. :)</div>

So I decided to try and see what I could get if i flipped the lens of my SLR, essentially making it a Macro lens.<br /><br />I hadn't tried this technique in a long time and was worried if I would be able to expose the film right, since reversing the lens makes the light meter go all weird, for some reason. But thankfully I was able to get two photos that were both acceptably sharp, and properly exposed. :)binggebahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16595307682705761512noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-533091558430738623.post-73669671224003735712010-06-27T15:15:00.004+05:302010-06-27T15:30:16.205+05:30The Door<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGtabQOJXtgU_m7FtBkw1_8TXcva4oSu5jwSVUq7a9zVxLZUUhcrNrno0VgVEWi4UzClJY84bEgCJGLLbuhT8nN8eZi9OBwcHvl9wixcrmZ5n0cwamzwHdBbdiYKOvhOl7DJHBAFfFITI/s1600/The+Door.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 265px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGtabQOJXtgU_m7FtBkw1_8TXcva4oSu5jwSVUq7a9zVxLZUUhcrNrno0VgVEWi4UzClJY84bEgCJGLLbuhT8nN8eZi9OBwcHvl9wixcrmZ5n0cwamzwHdBbdiYKOvhOl7DJHBAFfFITI/s400/The+Door.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5487389055316912226" border="0" /></a><br />It's great what you find hiding away in the back alleys now and then.binggebahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16595307682705761512noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-533091558430738623.post-76476109359857596932010-06-14T23:23:00.004+05:302010-06-15T12:33:05.637+05:30I love my Bike.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEia8VXlQUa0FkHAPfvv5XkFiA5Uus02ZXG34Qe08zYX0E1mdRKE1fly8mENtXr7QC5U8nQxjdXVNFmnT8QUnLxebzOxRX1RfLdaNBkjibRDmRFVe4DAqn97SD1AtKhBuGAxsUmT_OAoPGc/s1600/F1030j07.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEia8VXlQUa0FkHAPfvv5XkFiA5Uus02ZXG34Qe08zYX0E1mdRKE1fly8mENtXr7QC5U8nQxjdXVNFmnT8QUnLxebzOxRX1RfLdaNBkjibRDmRFVe4DAqn97SD1AtKhBuGAxsUmT_OAoPGc/s320/F1030j07.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5482689203904697026" border="0" /></a><br />Last week I spent Saturday at a friends house on the outskirts of the city. I said I would post some photos taken in film, so here they are. Well, at least one. Notice how the focus point is a bit funny? Well I just found out that the focus of my trusty old SLR is a bit, well... Broken. No, not exactly that, more like:<br /><br />"Blurry. Always"<br /><br />Though if you want me to tell you what's actually wrong with it, from a practical point. The focus shifts a little forward than what I see in the viewfinder.<br /><br />Okay, I can live with that. I just have to compensate for the focus a bit before I release the shutter. If I could release the shutter.<br /><br />You see what's happening? Things are going down hill. Fast.<br /><br />I don't even know If there's a place to service the camera in this City. Gonna have to go looking sometime...<br /><br />Ah well. I still have the DSLR (That hopefully last a while longer...) Oh! I forget to tell you, I built my own pinhole camera a couple days ago! It's been a while since I last posted here. And I have no excuses, apart from there not being enough time/just haven't been taking as much photos as I once did.<br /><br />But in that time, I sort of revived my old habit of taking photos with film! I don't know if I mentioned this earlier, but I have an Olympus OM10 camera, well... It's more like my fathers old camera, which is actually the one I learned how to use an SLR first with. Since then, I've gotten more used to digital cameras and their flexibility, not to mention how easy it is to see the end results. Anyway, a couple weeks ago I was fishing through my gear, when I found a roll of slide film, that I didn't even know existed before that. This 'discovery' of sorts rekindled my desire to shoot in film again, despite how impractical it might be.<br /><br />I finished the roll yesterday, and was going to have it developed today, but the studio was closed. So I'll try again tomorrow. Hopefully I haven't lost my touch completely, and at least some of them turn out ok.binggebahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16595307682705761512noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-533091558430738623.post-29274415224930848412010-01-31T23:27:00.005+05:302010-01-31T23:38:34.616+05:30Walkers<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1VDmcO5_XsMBfVHHRV_ApyhRwEAf11Qfxun81b0kXnwbYfe9EGmf8RNkZ_ssl1H77VsG4zefMA2TCt3uKahKfHcFOpqYOeBjBRsNjZ2gBBLOWPQpeNf2Kfh35-g3cTbWxGQ5R57ofde8/s1600-h/Walkers.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1VDmcO5_XsMBfVHHRV_ApyhRwEAf11Qfxun81b0kXnwbYfe9EGmf8RNkZ_ssl1H77VsG4zefMA2TCt3uKahKfHcFOpqYOeBjBRsNjZ2gBBLOWPQpeNf2Kfh35-g3cTbWxGQ5R57ofde8/s320/Walkers.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5432966575210582018" border="0" /></a><br />Me, my brother, and a friend went out for a walk on Saturday, from our house, to the Hawa Mahal in the city (which we didn't photos of, by the way...). Well, monkey's occasionally come by our house, to see if they can get a bite out of my Mother's veggies. So we have to stand guard for as long as they do. I'll try to post a picture or two, but I doubt it'll happen.<br /><br />See you all in about a month or two. :)binggebahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16595307682705761512noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-533091558430738623.post-29879833342537974462009-08-17T23:14:00.002+05:302009-08-17T23:20:29.736+05:30Looking Down<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZJRYd8BaK9LyKsMxIx1xqu2N8ebgixkKz3wvdOGqgQ06VzF4s9xyv3J9M77OTb8QEggBnXCWj3jB2C38J-dvuvLNoN7LM2J52FahBLtEvaTIM6mMr9ifA4-JtO1EmoxJkjdVxxz9wL8U/s1600-h/Image010.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZJRYd8BaK9LyKsMxIx1xqu2N8ebgixkKz3wvdOGqgQ06VzF4s9xyv3J9M77OTb8QEggBnXCWj3jB2C38J-dvuvLNoN7LM2J52FahBLtEvaTIM6mMr9ifA4-JtO1EmoxJkjdVxxz9wL8U/s400/Image010.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5370990786261025618" /></a>This is the (pretty bad) view from the first floor of our apartment building. Not much of a view, but maybe a decent picture?<div><br /></div><div>Again, I had to edit the photo, since it was taken on my Mobile Phone... </div>binggebahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16595307682705761512noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-533091558430738623.post-76650031904895794862009-08-15T21:01:00.005+05:302009-08-16T00:29:29.292+05:30Run.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTTDYu6yYgHNFCUbUB6thTNQ1YIeIxXgR_o7zHlFXDqnayIhyJWr5xSVd4qAh2vt-pHY2nOj4JWlpVQswkDmwj55a9jn2AxJb1DkH_-M1koI5RWAd57HplhpvY_ujJpRgplda_N4Gdqwo/s1600-h/Image006.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTTDYu6yYgHNFCUbUB6thTNQ1YIeIxXgR_o7zHlFXDqnayIhyJWr5xSVd4qAh2vt-pHY2nOj4JWlpVQswkDmwj55a9jn2AxJb1DkH_-M1koI5RWAd57HplhpvY_ujJpRgplda_N4Gdqwo/s400/Image006.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5370214015149996898" /></a>So, I took this one the other day, on my way back home. It was sort of an accident -the composition, at least. I like the way the empty space actually makes the photo more interesting.<div><br /></div><div>I barely edited this one, because I liked the original outcome so much. Just a little noise removal here and there. </div>binggebahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16595307682705761512noreply@blogger.com1
